Greetings From That Other Coast...

Been in San Francisco since Friday... business with a bit of pleasure thrown in to make it more tolerable. Stayed with Cor at her place in the "Tender-Knob"... a peculiar little neighborhood that seems to specialize in trannies and... well... more trannies...

From what she tells me, she's got a strange little super who has a noir sense of humor... I love how he's named some of the vacant apartments. You can catch me chilling with RAD and FRANKENSTEIN... as well as SEVEN who lives in #7 (not pictured). Them's good people.

Transferred over to my hotel last night... a fine establishment right on the Embarcadero... right next to the old Ferry Building... where they've got a great farmer's market and a wine store that stalks Sean Thackery vintages... pretty killer.

So this is the view from my room... try to find a better one... I DOUBLE DOG DARE ya! But, alas... it's soured slightly with my job starring me in the face... reminding me why I'm here... "Get to work bitch... and don't be late!"

But I guess I can't complain... it's kinda cool to see your stuff on a giant billboard haunting your suite... and even better on stranger's asses when you're walkin round different places, not expecting button 568P to stare back and wink at you.

Last night was Les Paul's 93rd Birthday...

The man still got it... took in both sets and got my guitar signed...

And wished him the best for the coming year...

Two Firsts...

So my first solo concert turned out to be awesome... but that was pretty much a guarantee considering who was performing. Met some cool people at my table... waiting for them to e-mail me pics of me DANCING ON STAGE WITH THE LEGEND... so this might in fact be a "to be continued"...

Anyway... here he is in action... hadn't heard him do this song before so it seems the most appropriate to share... I am still astounded at his vigor and cunning considering his age... 81!!!

Mutha Fuckin' CHUCK BERRY Tonight!!!...

What can I say... I've been waiting on this for a while and now here we go. I'm going mad early to cop a front row seat... my first concert in solo attendance thanks to M.I.A. playing the McClaren Pool tonight (John-ing all my peeps with her slick pimp game)... have fun in that Brooklyn sweat mob scene SUCKERS...

I'm off to see a living legend and dance with some old folks. SNOOGS!

And I hear the man still does the duck walk. Who's sorry now?!




It's turned into sketch week at Semi's, and all I can say is there's NOTHING better than good company, a little silliness, and shared creativity... last night's reaping... complete with rocket launcher...

Duuu-DEatH-am...

Sketch night last night included the inception of (and induction into) the Scorpion Gang...and drawing like a madman with Semi and Steve.


Semi captured me (very quickly I might add) in a red triangle of figurative karma and literal physical feng shui. Fucking brilliant as always... and a damn good likeness. Nice one puta!!!


She also just got a light box and I started tracing lifeless zombie heads off magazine tears she had sitting on it. Then Steve came and we turned these rabid zombie bitches into doodle pass...

And started another from scratch... fucking awesome one below... so many layers of morphic distortion... like Alice in Monsterland weird science mash up packing subliminal messages and nasty looking stitches (courtesy of Steve the surgeon). The little red and green smoking snake (on the left border) is my favorite part. I love you damn kids.

Inspiration... And Another Frankenstein Creation...

Last night... twilight drifted in, on new summer wind, through sycamore trees and with it rained simple happiness... the kind you know subconscious, hidden deep in your mind from past lives... the kind that makes you wonder what could have been if fate were cast a little different in this life... and the kind that makes you grateful, risking everything for that one shadowy second, even if it is fleeting... just to feel it alive again, if for only a moment in the present.


Enough of the deep shit. Let's get silly...


Wandered into sketch night again at Semi's, where I awoke this morning... Thanks Sem, you my lucky devil chica, I always touch tighter shit when we sit and draw together.

R.I.P. Bo Diddley :( ...

It's been a tough day, for more reasons than one, but ultimately because it is the day we lost one of the most bad ass mother fuckers around...

.......Bo Diddley 1928-2008.......
Founding father of rock and roll.
Huge inspiration to ALL who came after him.
The man is and will always be a God to me.

Here's one of my favorite videos of him in action... playin Road Runner... the slide opener is killer.

Makes me even more grateful to see Chuck Berry later this week... there just aren't that many of the greats left anymore.
